I love travelling and have lived and worked in many countries around the world. After finishing school in Scotland, I went to Paraguay for 6 months, and taught in an English School. Later I went to India and worked with children suffering from Polio.

I have an Honours Degree in Geography from Edinburgh University and obtained my T.E.F.L. (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification at International House in Barcelona.

I came to Gandía in January 2001, and fell in love with the area, so much so that I decided to settle here. Speaking Spanish has been invaluable to me and I would like to help newcomers to the area overcome the language barrier and get the most out of living in Spain. I feel that learning a language should be fun, interesting and, above all, of use.

I came to Gandía on holiday and I liked it so much that i decided to start a new life here.

I've always enjoyed working with people and giving English classes was an interesting job option for me.  I studied for the T.E.S.O.L certificate in Valencia in 2003 and have been teaching ever since.

I studied Spanish at Hull University where part of the course was a 9 month teaching assistant placement in a spanish primary school near Pamplona. I was responsible for the planning of the childrens lessons and any other fun activities I felt would help the children learn English effectively. I really enjoyed the experience of living in Spain and teaching and so decided that I wanted to work as an English teacher in Spain when I finished my degree.I really enjoy living in Gandia with its friendly people and beautiful beach.  In my free time I read a lot, and have a specific interest in foreign literature and also non-fiction. I often go running and I enjoy going to the gym. I love to travel and also like socialising with friends.
